How
Much is that Doggie in the Window?
Did
you know that approximately 6000 puppies are shipped out of
Missouri weekly destined for pet shops and cages around the
nation and the world? That's about 300,000 puppies per year
making it a $4 billion Missouri industry!
Most of these doggies are mass-bred in a "puppy mill" where the dogs
are kept in deplorable conditions. Many of these animals end up with chronic
health and behavioral problems, have questionable "papers" or lineage,
and carry a hefty price tag!
Please, check out your dog breeder thoroughly before you buy!.

better option? Yes, OPT
to ADOPT a shelter/rescue pet! On the average
30% of the dogs in shelters are pure breed dogs. Breed mix
dogs are also plentiful at shelters and are not as likely
to suffer pure breed maladies.

to the those who generously donated in May
2003 No More Homeless Pets in KC provided free
and
discount spay/neuter services to hundreds of
people that could not afford to do so otherwise.
That means a lot of unwanted litters were prevented
AND the overall health of the pets was improved
too!
There
are thousands of people in Kansas City that
cannot afford to have their pets spayed
or neutered. Sadly, this results in more litters,
more stray animals, and more cats and dogs
at shelters every day. With your help,
we can make
a difference!
